Mini Quilt Silent Auction
Hexagon Project:
Vonda
Slinkard and Lynnore Meyer are making the Hexagon kits to put together as a
project for the Auction at our Quilt Show in 2012. Nancy Pleimann
found a blog that has a page and information on making Hexagons. She
also list the site of a place that you can print your on Hexagons.
That is the size that will match the one in the small kit. The reason for
the dot is to punch a hole in the center. I like the way she punches a hole
in the center to put your pin. If you do not have the 110 weight
paper, contact Nancy Pleimann who will print a page for you and bring it to
the March meeting.

Every even year the River Heritage Quilt Guild has a Quilt Show.
As part of that show, we have a silent auction of small quilts. 100% of
the money goes to support breast cancer research and education.
- Who makes quilts: You do, the members of the guild or
anyone who wants to participate.
- When needed: The next show will be in the fall of 2012.
You can bring your mini quilt to any guild meeting. Linda Tansil has a
box dedicated to the mini quilt show. If Linda is not at the meeting, give them to Joan Meyer and she'll
get them to Linda.
- Size Rule: Maximum perimeter 130 inches. No
minimum size.
- What it is not: aprons, purses, ...,
anything that is not a small quilt
- Need ideas: Have you ever started a class and
stopped with one block -- a lot of lovely minis were based on such orphans.
Try out a new technique without being committed to finding house room for it
Use a color you've never used before -- see what you come up with
NO other items - no purses, no aprons, no crafts. We are trying
not to be competition for our vendors. - What if I cannot make one?
Come to the next show and bid!! If you have questions, contact Linda Tansil
email the webmaster.
